We are at the Nassau County Range for live fire portion.
We also will be at a range in Suffolk by appointment only
*You do not need a NYS pistol permit to take this course*
New York State Concealed Carry or “CCW” class is 16 hours of classroom training and 2 hours of Live fire training. This course will meet or exceed the standards set by NYS for applying for a Conceal Carry Permit. Individuals renewing their license in New York City or Westchester, Nassau, and Suffolk counties must complete the training. At any point if changes are made to the curriculum the students will be provided the new info at no additional cost. At this time you are not required to possess a pistol permit to take the class. Proof of completion of the firearm safety training course is required to obtain a concealed carry license on or after September 1, 2022. This course will be given over 2 days
In order to pass, attendees are required to pass a written examination scoring a minimum of 80% as well as shoot a live fire minimum proficiency qualification at the range. You do not automatically get a completion certificate without passing the written and practical range sessions. You Student that do not pass the test the range practical portion minimum qualification - DO NOT PASS THE CLASS and no certificate will be issued. There are no refunds under 72 hours from the 1st day of the class. If you do not show up, you fail to complete all the hours or fail the written or practical portion of the course you will not receive a certificate.

WEEKEND/WEEKDAY CLASS – 2 consecutive days back-to-back.
FLEX SCHEDULING –. You do not have to take the course on 2 consecutive days. You can pick the days you want to attend. You must pick a part A & Part B to complete the program and you must complete both days within a 30-day period. You can take part B before part A. You must reserve both days at the same time. You can take part A or B first. You do not have to take part A before part B.
PART A – Classroom only. You do not bring a firearm to the class on this day.
PART B – Classroom, practical skills, live fire and range assessment by attending the range will all occur on the B day. If you own a firearm, you will bring your firearm to class on this day as well as your ear/eye protection and 50 rounds of ammo..
LIVE FIRE* – You are required to bring your own equipment. If you do not have equipment and for non permit holders, you will be required to rent the equipment needed for the range. There is a $100 rental fee that will include use of the firearm, ear/eye protection, 50 rounds of ammo etc. Under certain circumstances, we can use either simunitions or UTM based on your existing permit circumstances.
Written Exam – You must receive an 80% or better on the written portion. All exam questions will be the material covered in the classroom.
RANGE ASSESMENT – You are required to be monitored for safe handling and proficiency with a firearm. All hands on will be covered in the classroom and range prior to the assessment.
CERTIFICATE – Will be issued n person at the completion of the course. Completion of the 2 days (part A, part B) will fulfill the required 16 hours of classroom & 2 hours of live fire time to apply & renew a NYS pistol permit.
If you fail to qualify due to unsafe practices, unsafe holster draw, or poor marksmanship, you will have to pay $100 and retake the range only qualification.
*Non existing NYS permit holders who are initially applying for their permit may be required to use non-lethal training ammunition. Due to the additional cost involved with this type training, there will be a $100 cash range fee which included use of our training firearms, ammo, ear/eye protection, etc. This fee will be due the 1st day of class.
What to bring – Your NYS ID, pistol permit if you have an existing permit & we recommend you dress warm as our classroom is kept on the cooler side.
Please do not e-mail us asking what to bring when you register. There is no special purchase necessary to attend this course. If you read the course description, all of your questions can be answered. IF YOU WON A PISTOL AND DO NOT HAVE A HOLSTER, DONT GO BUY ONE WE HAVE EQUIPMENT IN THE CLASS YOU CAN SEE BEFORE YOU PURCHASE.
No ammunition allowed in the classroom.
All live fire will take place at the Nassau County Pistol Range.

ALL SALES ARE FINAL - You will be charged the full amount upon reserving your seat in the class. You can change your registration once at no cost with 72 hours notice. Under 72 hours there is a $100 change fee. For any additional course changes at any time, there is a $100 change fee each time it is changed. In order to prevent additional expenses, do not sign up until you are ready to take this class.

ALL SALES ARE FINAL - You will be charged the full amount upon reserving your seat in the class. You can cancel your registration with 72 hour notice for full in-house credit. Under 72 hours there is a $100 cancelation fee and the balance will be an in-house credit. Once the class begins, there is no refund or credit issued. You would need to register again and pay the full course fee. In order to prevent this, do not sign up until you are ready to take this class.
